Feeling Like Royalty

 Happy Thursday

We Found this vintage

 Royal Crown Cola

wooden bottle carrier and I just could not walk away from

the crown logo
but to be truthful with you
 I had no idea what I was going to use it for
 and in our house
 if it isn't useful and beautiful
then it usually is gone fast

We quickly learned how handy these
wooden carriers are

 to have around the house 

 {Love} 

to use this one to bring flower packs outside for planting

 it fits four six packs perfectly

and it even has handles
on the sides

  The Royal carrier ended up on the dining room table

 it looked so cute that it  stayed there
  for a few days

 before we took it outside to plant the flowers

 ♥

Use it or Lose it

Hi Everyone

 Happy Tuesday

"Use it or lose it"

I know you have heard

 this saying before

but in our house it doesn't just mean

 what you may think

In our home it means being able to use things more than one place
 moving them

all around
from room to room

  using things in different ways

even moving them from
inside to outside
These wire baskets are a great example

I bought this metal basket years ago we
 had it inside sitting on our mantel with flowers
Then I found another one that was about the same size
but not identical
which I really
 {Love}
it's not matchy matchy!!!

This lead to a pretty new idea and outside they went to
hold seasonal flowers
by our front door

It is so fun to be able to change up the flowers too
 right now we have white begonias
 plopped in tin pots

I added the burlap to the bottom of the wire baskets and the birds
in our yard
{Love} 
to come and peck at it to get a little piece for their nests

So the
"use it or lose it idea"
really is simple if you are not using something in your
 Home
 try using it in a new and different way
 maybe even outside
and if not
Lose it

Romantic Treasure

Have you ever found something

and just absolutely knew

 without  a doubt

 you HAD to have it

could not wait to get it home

 and could not believe how lucky you were that it was yours
and on top of that it was a bargain too

Something so beautiful 

a romantic treasure 

I have yearned for one of these large white shells for so long
you see we

{Love}

 to walk on the beach

{Love}

looking for shells holding hands together
{Love}
toes in the sand

We have a large
collection of  found shells

All through out 
our home

 We found this amazing sand dollar
recently at the beach here in Del Mar
while watching the sunset

A few of these shells were collected
 on our very first date
 we went to the beach and watched the sunset
 {hand and hand}
and then went to dinner
It is still one of our most  favorite romantic date nights

 Yesterday this  

 beautiful white shell was sitting on a shelf
price tag 7.99

 Thank You  who ever donated

 this beauty to the Goodwill

Gifts for Dads, Grads and Teachers

Hi Everyone

 Happy Tuesday

Its that time of year  

when we all need a few fun gifts
for Dads , Grads and Teachers 

This year for Mothers day I received this wonderful
 stepping stone kit from the family
 they found it online at
  Michaels 

 You can add anything you want to the stepping stone to make it your own
we decided to go to the beach for inspiration

We had so much fun 

 gathering shells and rocks 

and watching the sunset together

Beautiful daughter enjoying the view

When we got home

 we mixed the cement and made our design

it was easy  

{Love}

 the way our stepping stone turned out 

{Love}

Flowers made from beach rocks and friendship shells

{they are called friendship shells because it is fun to find one side of the shell

 and then look for the match}

The great part about this gift idea

for Teachers ,Grads and Dads too
 it would be so cute to add the year

Matildas Mouse Sale

Hi Everyone

 Happy Friday

I hope you all had a wonderful

 Mother's day

We just returned home from our daughter's graduation

  at Texas Christian University last Saturday

 on Sunday the family was all together to celebrate Mother's day

{best present ever} 

 the fun continued as

beautiful daughter and I had a blast driving home
  from Texas back to California

grateful for a safe trip

We took our time and enjoyed the beauty of every minute

I am always in awe when we make this drive 

America is so beautiful !!!

We made it home just in time for 

Matilda's Mouse sale today in Valley Center

Just look at these gorgeous cabbage roses cascading over the front gate
at Matilda's
{sigh}

continues this Saturday and Sunday too
If you have the time this sale is worth the drive
always fabulous vintage treasures
I have yet to come home empty handed !!!

Found this rusty, chippy repurposed holder
 perfect for the green house

 Gorgeous roses are blooming everywhere

The front entrance to the sale which is in a wonderful old barn
 looks inviting with
vintage watering cans and lot's of outdoor plants and flowers
the garden theme is perfect for this time of year

What a fun weekend !!!
before hosting the Mother's day party on Sunday

 I took a photography class on Saturday taught by talented
  Cynthia Shaffer

 I was recently hired  

  to shoot 

 a few vintage flea markets in the mid west 

{Love}
my goal is to
 capture beauty
 and post the best pictures possible
grateful to be able to
 keep learning and growing
 as these new opportunities arise

Armed with our cameras new and old
 we all learned  more about
aperture , iso and shutter speed
these three words all mean
light,light,light

Mothers Day Garden Party

Hi Everyone

 Happy Friday

♥

This week end is my annual

 Mothers Day party 

This is a garden party with fabulous friends, pretty flowers

and delicious and decadent food

It is so much fun to get together

Everyone has to come wearing hats, gloves and pearls

There is even a prize for the best outfit

and a few years ago 

the winner wore a bicycle helmet, rubber gloves and a leather skirt 

some how she pulled this off like a champ!!!

We play fun games 

and exchange gifts of no more than $10 dollars 

Then of coarse you can steal a gift so there is always a 

little excitement

These talented Ladies get really creative with 10 bucks
 last year we all fought over a hand painted
water color picture of our home!!!!!
